Dominican people call the Lebanese immigrants who came during the 19th century, TURCOS! Jajaja. I remember them as turcos and cloth carpets curtains purveyors who walked for hours collecting .5 and .10 from poor families trying to get by. My mom Yalla 😐 if we (I think Jewish) are Arabs or Sephardic in heritage because besides TIPILE’ we Dominicans definitely All ❤️ QUIPES or bulgur wheat 🌾 hand 🖐 made 🏈 shaped filled with 🥩 🐤 🧀 or 🍤. We love ❤️ kippers or kipes (kippers are herrings?😟). I know that my ☪️ brothers and daughters also enjoy 😉 “Kipes”!
Tipile was as I remember our favorite meal 🥘 with lots of aromatic parsley chopped lime juice green pepper red pepper flakes(my version) overnight soaked wheat finely chopped 🧅 tomatoes 🍅 extra virgin olive oil and a couple of 🧢 of vinegar. Eaten best at room temperature 🤒. Mix all in even enjoy ya self!😀
